Stage Kitten Application

Interested in being part of a burlesque show, but not quite ready to commit to a burlesque number? Apply today to be a Stage Kitten for Pastie Premiers 2020: An Open Night of Burlesque, at ProArts in Kihei, on Saturday, February 1. The show starts at 8pm, but kittens will be called at 3pm to attend a tech rehearsal.

Stage Kittens and Pandas (AKA Pickup Artists; AKA Prop Tarts) are the glue that holds a Burlesque show together. These handy helpers set props before performances and pick up clothes and all manner of other things that may have been shed onstage after a number. But Prop Tarts aren’t just stage hands. They are also there to interact with the audience and the host (and sometimes even the performers). They are onstage in more ways than one and are definitely a part of the show.

Be prepared to dress up and strut your stuff while showing off the artistry of picking stuff up.

We can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to see the show, as views from backstage are limited. We also don’t offer comp tickets. Please approach this role with an open mind as you may get dragged in to all manner of interesting situations both on and off stage.

Applications close January 18, 2020.

Pastie Premiers Application

Whether you’re a newbie testing the waters or a seasoned burlesque veteran, the stage is yours for any style of solo or group burlesque, vaudeville, cabaret, comedy, drag, pole dance, or any other Avant-Guarde act.

Please fill out the form as best as possible. You are welcome to submit up to 3 proposed acts. Submission of an application does not guarantee you a spot in the show.

Applications are due by December 31, 2019.

A tech run through will be done the afternoon before the show so all performers should plan on being at the playhouse from 3pm on.

Performer comps will not be provided.

Stage kittens will be available to help with setup and cleanup.

The dressing room at the playhouse is limited in space so please be prepared to share the area.

We reserve the right to use photos or video taken of you at our event to help promote future events.
